How long will it take for me to see some muscle in my arms. I'm 13 if it matters

Don't listen to this joker that answered. An ergo-meter, or rowing machine is a very good machine for you to be using. As long as your using good form on it, it should help promote you becoming taller. If you want to see major muscle growth, I suggest you add a third session. Don't do two sessions a day after the other.

Instead of doing long 40 minute pieces, I suggest you pull harder and shorter pieces.

Try 2k's first. All out, full power. Then try more workouts such as 12x250 meters with 30 seconds rest in between. They should be all out. Working with weights after your ergo-meter workout helps a lot too. And days your not in the gym, simply do push ups. They substantially help your arms by having to push up your weight.
